Hurricane Larry causes flooding and warnings of tornadoes in the northeast

A Category 3 hurricane moving across the Atlantic brings new warnings of returns and flooding to the east coast, just one week after the deadly Hurricane Ida devastated the region.

Hurricane Larry, now spreading near Bermuda, is not expected to reach the United States, but forecasts say it will be strong enough to be felt on the east coast.

The National Weather Service has warned of heavy storms and instant flooding across the northeast as of late Wednesday.

“Harmful winds, hail and some tornadoes are possible, along with heavy rains. The very humid soil of the recent heavy rains from the remains of Henri and Ida increases the threat of floods “, explains the service he tweeted.

Tornadoes are expected for parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The two states were hit by seven tornadoes during last week’s historic storm.

Meteorologists also predict that Larry’s significant swell should affect the United States and continue until the end of the week.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Larry, which had maintained winds of 115 mph, blew off 660 miles southeast of Bermuda in the early hours of Wednesday.

The center of the hurricane is expected to pass east of Bermuda on Thursday, the National Hurricane Center warned.

Meteorologists have issued a tropical storm warning for the island.
