Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity is officially the best-selling Musou game in history

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity it had a pretty big launch for the most part. While sales of Koei Tecmo’s hack-and-slash series aren’t usually bright, their status as Breath of the Wild the prequel elevated her undeniably.

Within a week of release, Age Of Calamity had already sold an impressive 3 million units in one week. According to its latest financial report, Koei Tecmo has revealed that it has shipped 3.5 million units worldwide by the end of December.

This makes it the best seller Musou game of all time, but it doesn’t seem to be becoming one of Nintendo’s evergreen titles, like Breath of the Wild. It is clear that sales are declining significantly after this initial release period.

Moving away from Age of Calamity, Koei Tecmo also confirmed additional game sales figures. Although none of them came close to their last Musou game, Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy while it had reached 220,000 units in Asia Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV the reissue reached a respectable 100,000 units.
