I think we’ve all suffered the same fate as the person in this fun Monster Hunter Rise clip

Wow!

Stop me if you’ve heard it before.

You are about to meet a creature in one Monster Hunter game. You have just upgraded the weapon and it is completely sharp. And you’ve cooked enough supplies and you’re all set and ready to get started. You get to the plate and they fall on a cliff or some other danger. Yes, it sounds good.

This clip shared by ThomasWiig on Reddit of his tango with a Rathian is so relatable that it hurts. That cracked tail jump seemed like a good idea on paper, but right at the apex of the jump, the monster roars and basically punches them. Without being baffled, they come back up with a chinchilla and all the resistance they can get, and a wing buffet hits them in the ass again. Classic.

Now there are ways to combat it, as the game offers “roar resistance,” you can use a Wirebug recovery, and you can approach the monster in a way that avoids such situations. But with the Wirebug offer in the game, why not use it to zip everywhere? Just remember it could go wrong.

I think what makes the video for me is the sound of pain breaking the bones the hunter experiences when they fall.
