Iberia will finally buy Air Europa for 500 million euros, after the boards of directors of the first and IAG, the holding company to which it belongs, have validated the negotiations with the second, as published this Friday by El Confidencial.
A little over a year after Iberia negotiated the purchase of Air Europa for a billion, and after the outbreak of the pandemic, Which has taken a turn in the tourism sector, the two sides have finally agreed that the purchase price should be halved and that payment be made in 2026.
According to the newspaper, which does not identify its sources, the operation is pending the manager of the rescue fund for strategic companies affected by the pandemic, managed by the State Industrial Holdings Company (SEPI), to agree to resign the appointment of the two directors corresponding to him for the loan granted to the Globalia subsidiary for 475 million.
