Iguana hunting in Hato Rei provokes police mobilization

A woman alerted the authorities, through a call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System, indicating about shots fired in front of the Plaza Antillana condominium, on Avenida César González, in Hato Rei, and on arrival authorities found two young men armed with hunting rifles, aiming and hunting iguanas.

According to preliminary information, the plaintiff, Gladys Negrón, called the 9-1-1 after hearing multiple detonations at the scene and when the agents, from the Hato King West Precinct, realized of the two men who with pellet rifles hunted iguanas on the spot.

The uniformed men proceeded to intervene with them and directed them that this place was not a hamlet so they could not be carrying out this activity there. These understood and proceeded to leave the area, showing no resistance.
