It looks like Apple is about to drop iMac Pro, with the high-end Mac’s all-in-one store page that includes a “While stocks last” slogan and only the base model with no custom settings available for purchase.
The iMac Pro was launched in December 2017 and, although there have been some changes to the configurations available over the years, it has not received substantial hardware upgrades over its lifetime. As a result, we have long recommended that users do not purchase iMac Pro, as the iMac is currently offering better value.
There have been some rumors about an iMac Pro updated over the years, including analyst Ming-Chi Kuo almost exactly a year ago.
It’s unclear if the iMac Pro is completely shut down or if Apple sells through existing stock before an upgrade, but the unusual note about declining supplies suggests the machine may be on the verge of shutting down completely. If an updated version arrives, it looks like it may not be ready to launch for a while yet and there may be an availability gap once the current model is exhausted.
