Russian study TallBoys has posted a few more minutes of videos from Militsioner, the next simulator “tries to escape from a city guarded by a giant police” (h / t Rock paper shotgun).

Since last July, the game has been updated with voice performances and a system that allows you to talk to the giant cop and your city mates. Other than that, it looks like the same terrifying and cutting-edge project that the developers unveiled in 2020.

“In order for the police and the environment to understand the player correctly, we are working on a system that will properly process the player’s responses based on the context,” a recent developer blog he explained, making comparisons to the cooperative ghost-hunting game Fasmophobia. “It’s important that you don’t make stupid mistakes or create obstacles, as the responses will influence the military’s mood and attitude against the player.”

TallBoys has said so Militsioner will also include a text-based alternative to the mechanics of the voice and perhaps even a “classical dialogue system.”

Since it was first shown a few months ago, Militsioner has gained the attention of both fans of weird video games and state-owned Russian press, the latter described the game as “Russophobic” due to its resemblance to the police officer Uncle Styopa, a character from Russian literature and cartoons of the 1930s.

“Our goal is not to create a bad image of the police, but to investigate the issue of responsibility and power,” Militsioner said art leader and designer Vladimir Semenets Polygon last September.

Militsioner is currently under development for PC. There is no release date.
