According to the UK National Health Services (NHS), the main symptoms of COVID-19 in children are similar to the symptoms in adults. Symptoms include new or continuous coughing and loss or change in your sense of smell and taste. Apart from this, some may have cold symptoms such as sore throat, congestion or runny nose and chills.
However, one of the significant symptoms recorded in children is multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C), which causes severe inflammation in various organs of the body, including the heart, lungs, blood vessels, kidneys, digestive system, the brain, skin, or eyes. A post-COVID child who has developed a multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C) can present with various symptoms, ranging from high temperature, rash, and abdominal pain to diarrhea and shortness of breath.
