No matter how you turn it around, 2020 was an amazing year for Innersloth and you will have had a hard time escaping their game success. Between us. Despite launching it in 2018, it slowly became one of the most successful games of 2020, and after a surprise drop after the last independent showcase in December, we can finally be on Nintendo Switch.
We have known for a long time that they will add a new map as a free update and now Innersloth has made us a small update. Detailed through their latest blog post, many of them are a recap of last year’s well-earned achievements and releases for other platforms, but they also discuss the Between Us for 2021 roadmap.
The new airship map is part of that, which was inadvertently accessible to Switch by mistake in December. Due to the launch in “early 2021” and based around The Henry Stickmin collection, the airship allows you to uniquely choose which room you want to start in, along with new features such as stairs and additional costumes. It was revealed during The Game Awards and, if you missed it, the trailer is available below:
For the Switch version specifically, Innersloth also addressed that several bug fixes have been worked on, including one that prevents blocking specific words in the chat. In addition, an account system is also being implemented in the game that adds friend lists and saved stats, but no start window has been given.
No doubt 2021 will be very busy for Between Us and we can’t wait to see what it brings.
