With the launch of the Mac M1 last November, Apple officially began its transition out of Intel’s chips, and from Intel’s latest advertising campaign it is clear that the company is threatened by Apple’s decision.
In the ads shared on Twitter, Intel highlighted the shortcomings of Apple’s Mac M1 line. An announcement this week, for example, points to the gaming capabilities of Intel chips. Intel mentions Rocket League, a game that is not available on Apple’s platform.
An announcement from last week highlighted by 9to5Mac points out the lack of touch screen on Apple Macs. “Only one PC offers tablet mode, touch screen and stylus functions on a single device,” Intel’s tweet says.

Apple’s M1 chips received a lot of attention at launch due to their impressive speed and energy efficiency, which do not match Intel chips. Earlier this week, Intel released a series of “carefully crafted” benchmarks designed to show that 11th-generation Intel processors are better than M1 chips, but the benchmarks were designed to favor Intel machines and go be described by Apple columnist Jason Snell as “M1-friendly.”
Intel’s anti-Apple advertising is likely to just begin, as Apple plans to be free of Intel chips in a two-year period. Apple is making the transition from its full range of Macs to Apple’s silicon chips, and the MacBook Pro and iMac will be set up below.
