Interest in switching to iPhone falls among Android users before the launch of the iPhone 13, poll shows

Android users are significantly less interested in iPhone 13 models than this time last year in iPhone 12 models, as they have been desperate for the continued lack of a fingerprint scanner and concerns about child safety features, according to a new survey by SellCell.

iPhone 12 in Android 2020
The survey, conducted earlier this month, asked more than 5,000 current Android users in the United States aged 18 and over for their opinion on Apple’s upcoming products, revealing how the PiPhone 13‌ and others Apple’s expected products are seen by customers of the rival platform since its launch.

The survey found that 18.3 of Android users would consider switching to an ‌Iphone 13‌. This is a significant decline from last year, when 33.1 percent of Android users were able to switch to a model “iPhone 12”. This represents a drop of 14.8 percent.

From the ‌iPhone 13‌ range, it is expected to consist of a 5.4-inch ‌iPhone 13‌ mini, a 6.1-inch ‌iPhone 13‌, a 6.1-inch ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro and a 6-inch ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro, 7-inch, open 39.8 percent of Android users to switch are most interested in the iPhone 13‌ Pro Max. 36.1% are more interested in the iPhone 13‌ Pro, 19.5% are interested in the iPhone 13‌ and only 4.6% are interested in the iPhone 13‌ mini.

This coincides with the big trends in the iPhone range among existing iPhone users, where the 6.7-inch model is very popular while the 5.4-inch “mini” form factor has generally been marginalized. and has suffered low sales.

When potential shoppers were asked what would force them to switch to an ‌Iphone 13‌ model, 51.4% cited longer software support, 23.8% cited Apple’s ecosystem, and 11.4 % cited better privacy.

31.9 percent of Android users said the lack of a fingerprint scanner for iPhone 13 authentication was the main reason they won’t consider changing. 16.7% said they would not consider changing due to limited iOS customization, 12.8% noted the lack of iOS support for side-loading applications, 12.1% cited overall design and hardware and 10.4% said “intrusive” exploration of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) was the main reason for not changing.

Of Android users who are interested in buying an ‌iphone 13‌, only 14.7% were also interested in buying an Apple Watch Series 7. companion. Also, only 6.2% were interested in buying third-generation AirPods.

The official launch of the honeiPhone 13‌, the Apple Watch Series 7 and the third-generation irAirPods is believed to be just a few weeks away, and while no major changes in the design of the ‌iPhone‌ are expected this year, we are likely to have several camera enhancements, ProRes video recording, a 120Hz ProMotion display, a smaller notch, a faster A-series processor, a new Qualcomm 5G chip and more.
