The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) revealed in the last hours that specialists found traces of heroin in the car of Diego Francisco Alvarado Peña (30 years old), police assigned to the division of Protection of Important Personalities (PPI) and currently detained for the attack on the FMLN caravan on Sunday 31 January.
Alvarado Peña, who is assigned to the safety of the Minister of Health, Francisco Alabi, is hospitalized, due to gunshot wounds. Until yesterday, it was unknown how he was injured.

The interlocutory in which the three defendants were driving is a blue Hyundai Elantra with plates P 830.034, in the name of the police Alvarado Peña. After the attack, the car was stored in one of the parking lots of the Ministry of Health, a few blocks from the scene of the incident.
On Monday, February 1, the car was inspected in that parking lot. In addition to the drug traces, they found a 9mm pistol and a shotgun. In the afternoon of that day, the car (already sealed) was taken out of place.

In the videos released by the prosecution on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 3, it is observed how the three attackers drive in this blue car, intercept the truck with FMLN militants, get off and carry out the attack. Then only two return to the cart and flee.
Due to the injuries received, two FMLN activists died: Glòria Rogel and Joan de Déu Tejada.
In addition to Alvarado Peña, Roberto Carlos Vedat de Pau (41 years old), a private security guard at the Ministry of Health, and Héctor de Jesús Castañeda (49 years old), a motorcyclist of the same ministry. The latter two were taken on the afternoon of February 3 to a court of law, where they will be charged with the murder of FMLN activists.
