Iowa reports no additional deaths from COVID-19 as hospitalizations continue to decline

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – The Iowa Department of Public Health reported that an additional 1,905 Yowans tested positive for COVID-19, but no deaths were reported Friday.

As of 10:30 a.m., state data show a total of 264,115 cases of COVID-19 and 3,451 deaths related to COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

State data show a total of 208,681 Yowans who have recovered from the virus.

According to data provided by the state, 5,488 COVID-19 tests were performed, making it a total of 1,305,950 tests performed since the pandemic began. According to these data, the positivity rate in the last 24 hours was 34.7 percent.

Hospitalizations continue to decline in Iowa. As of 10:30 a.m., 701 Iowans are hospitalized with the virus, and 96 have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours. Of the Iowans hospitalized, 136 are in the ICU and 80 in ventilators.
