It appears that Nintendo has accidentally used a rendering of Mario made by fan on its website

Super Mario SunshineNintendo

Seconds Twitter user ujiidow, Nintendo made a big joke: it looks like they accidentally used uJiidow’s unofficial Mario representation instead of a real one on the Super Nintendo World website that was released yesterday. At the time of writing, it appears that Nintendo has removed the image, hopefully replacing it with someone who it is not an impostor. What is this, Between us?

Here are the two images, for reference, with the file unofficial one on the left and the real one on the right:

… Yeah, it’s hard to say, right? They both look like Mario, after all.

Here is the screenshot of the website by ujiidow and its current look:

Subsequent research has uncovered the fact that imposter Mario creator is also going through the coolest_luigi handle on Reddit, where they first posted the image. How very suspicious. We’re not saying this is the classic “little brother gets jealous, sabotages siblings” plot, but we’re not no saying that.

Of course, it’s not the first time Mario looks a lot like someone, does it? We all played Super Mario Sunshine, and we all know how it worked.
