It has been rumored that iPhone 13 models support faster 6E Wi-Fi

Apple plans to launch its first iPhones with Wi-Fi 6E support in 2021, according to Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Thomas O’Malley.

In a research note shared with MacRumors today, analysts wrote that investor sentiment around the Apple Skyworks vendor has become “too negative” as the semiconductor company apparently supplies several components for the “iPhone 13” models. “This year, including the Wi-Fi 6E power amplifiers.

Analysts said chip maker Broadcom will also benefit from both Apple and Samsung adopting Wi-Fi 6E this year. Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled its new Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphone with Wi-Fi 6E compatibility based on a Broadcom chip.

This more specific information comes after Barclays analysts said iPhone 13 models “could” support Wi-Fi 6E last month.

Wi-Fi 6E offers Wi-Fi 6 features and capabilities, including higher performance, lower latency, and faster data speeds, extended to the 6 GHz band. The additional spectrum will provide much more airspace beyond existing Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, resulting in increased bandwidth and less interference for devices that support Wi-Fi 6E.

Earlier this year, the FCC adopted rules that would allow 1,200 MHz of spectrum in the 6 GHz band to be available for unlicensed use in the United States, paving the way for the launch of Wi-Fi-enabled devices. 6E to the country.

Both the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 lines support the standard 6 GHz Wi-Fi 6 version, as does the second-generation iPhone.
