It is rumored that the new AirPods Pro and iPhone SE will be launched in April 2021

After sharing possible details about the upcoming iPad mini, iPad, iPad Pro and iPhone 13 models earlier this week, the Japanese blog Mac Otakara it now claims that Apple plans to launch both second-generation AirPods Pro and a third-generation iPhone SE in April 2021, with information coming back from sources from Chinese vendors.

The report states that the new AirPods Pro will include a slightly redesigned charging box. Specifically, the report states that the case will continue to be 21 mm thick, but will be 46 mm high and 54 mm wide. The current AirPods Pro charging box is 45.2mm high and 60.6mm wide, so the new box will apparently be a little narrower.

The report does not provide any further details on either the AirPods Pro or the iPhone SE. BloombergMark Gurman has previously reported that Apple intends to make second-generation AirPods Pro more compact by removing the stem that protrudes from the bottom, but it’s unclear if Apple will succeed. Gurman said Apple had a design in testing with a more rounded shape that fills more of the ear, similar to Google’s Pixel Buds.

As for the iPhone SE, most rumors have focused on a larger variant of the device with a 5.5-inch or 6.1-inch screen, which analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said will launch in the second half of 2021. Considering that Mac Otakara refers to the next model as a “third-generation” iPhone SE, but it’s possible that Apple will have a 4.7-inch screen like the second-generation iPhone SE; it is not clear.

Apple launched the current AirPods Pro in late October 2019, while the second-generation iPhone SE was launched in April 2020.
