It looks like Eminem has responded in a TikTok campaign trying to cancel him out for “problematic” lyrics on one of his old songs.
The 48-year-old American rapper was on trend the popular social media app after a series of videos highlighted a controversial line from her 2010 song Love The Way You Lie with Rihanna.
In the song, Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, makes a rap: “I know I’m a liar, if I ever try to leave again, I’ll tie her to the bed and set this house on fire.”

TikTok users suggested that the lyrics “glorify domestic violence” and called the song “problematic.”
One video says, “Yesssss let’s cancel it,” while another wrote, “No wonder it’s toxic, I grew up listening to this song.”

He shared a clip of the track on his Twitter, in which he appears to address the scandal directly with lyrics that said, “I can’t understand a word you say, I’m deaf. I think that’s how I’d rather stay, I’m deaf.
“I won’t stop even when my hair turns gray, I’m deaf. Because they won’t stop until they cancel me out.

The video for Love The Way You Lie, directed by Joseph Kahn, sees Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan playing a couple living an abusive relationship.
At the time of the song’s release in 2010, Terry O’Neill, president of the National Organization for Women, said Rihanna was unintentionally glorifying domestic violence.
“It tells the story and doesn’t judge it,” O’Neill said. “So he may not intend to glorify it, but he does.”
Marjorie Gilberg, executive director of the anti-violence group Break the Cycle, agreed.
“The danger is that pop culture will define our social norms,” he told the AP.
‘We don’t want the message of this song to be that this kind of relationship is acceptable.
“So this song has to be seen in the context of real adult information, such as parents and teachers.”
