Arbitration with HBO is one step closer to Michael Jackson’s estate documentary series Leaving Neverland After the Court of Appeals upheld the earlier verdict on December 14th Variety, The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously ruled that the contract disagreement between Jackson Estate and HBO could not rule out terms that have not been in place for decades, confirming an earlier California court ruling. This rule applies to HBO’s 1992 concert film Jackson Dangerous The tour, and his estate, is asking the network for $ 100 million in an investigation into child-sexual abuse allegations against Jackson, claiming it violated the agreement. This ruling, like the previous ruling, does not mean that HBO should pay – unless HBO wants to try its luck by appealing to the Supreme Court, the dispute should now go to the contract arbitrator. The three-judge panel ruled that “we can only identify whether such claims have been accepted by the arbitral tribunal; the arbitrator must determine whether those claims are valid.”
