Jackson Health begins public vaccination campaign against COVID-19

MIAMI – Jackson’s health system began providing the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday to patients age 65 and older.

The public health system will receive an additional 15,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine that will be given to the elderly, according to Lidia Amoretti, a spokeswoman for Jackson Health System.

The system is also preparing to launch an online platform that will allow Miami-Dade County residents over the age of 65 to make appointments to receive the vaccine.

Also in Miami-Dade, Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach provides the vaccine to people over 75 years of age. For more information, call 305-674-2312.
