The Rangers ’injury problems have gotten a lot worse.
Jacob Trouba left Tuesday’s 5-2 loss to the Devils with an upper body injury and on Wednesday the Rangers announced the defender would be out for four to six weeks because of that.
It’s just the Rangers ’latest hit, who played Tuesday’s game without star winger Artemi Panarin (lower body) and promising rookie defender K’Andre Miller (upper body), who have both been tabs as day to day. The Rangers also lack center Filip Chytil, who is in the middle of his own recovery four to six weeks after an upper body injury.
Trouba, who had Miller as his regular teammate, averaged 21:40 ice time for 14 games, the second highest clip of all skaters behind blue teammate Adam Fox.
Veteran defender Jack Johnson has come out with a strain on his groin, but coach David Quinn said Monday he hoped Johnson could practice again this week.
