The only center that started a Texan game during Deshaun WatsonThe race is already on the market. The jeans released Nick Martin on Friday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports (on Twitter). The move is now official.
A player in the fifth round of 2016, Martin missed the entire rookie season, but consolidated as Houston’s starting center a year later. In every game Watson played as a professional, Martin acted as his center. Martin will join Senio Kelemete while the O-linemen jeans cut this week. The Texans also posted Duke Johnson Friday.
When Martin launches, the jeans will save $ 6.25mm in cap. The little brother of Zack Martin, Nick earned a base salary of $ 7.25MM in 2021 and was signed during the 22nd season. The jeans have moved north to $ 15 million.
The Texans gave Martin a three-year, $ 33 million extension before the 2019 season. As of Friday, that deal remained a center contract among the top five.
