MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, has married a science teacher who works at a private school in Seattle, according to a report.
Scott, one of the richest women in the world, known for her philanthropy, married Dan Jewett, a teacher at Lakeside School, a source told the Wall Street Journal.
Currently, her Amazon author page says she “lives in Seattle with her four children and her husband, Dan,” according to the report.
Scott helped Bezos start Amazon in 1994. The two, who have four children, divorced in 2019 following revelations of Bezos’ affair with Los Angeles television reporter Lauren Sanchez.
The divorce left Scott with 20 million shares of Amazon, or a 4% stake in the e-commerce giant. At the time, the shares were approximately $ 30 billion.
After the split, Scott signed the Giving Pledge pledge, setting the goal of giving away more than half of his wealth, which according to Bloomberg’s multimillionaire index, now stands at $ 53.5 billion.
In a blog post in Medium in December, Scott said he donated about $ 4.2 billion to charities over a four-month span to support struggling Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her new husband wrote in his own Giving Pledge letter that: “In a happy coincidence, I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know, and I join her in committing to conveying a enormous financial wealth to serve others, “according to the Journal.
The relationship between Bezos, who last month announced he would step down as CEO of Amazon, and Sanchez were first revealed by National Enquirer, which posted cruel text messages between the two.
In a post-Medium post, Bezos accused National Enquirer editor David Pecker of trying to force him to stop investigating the tabloid’s exposition of his adventure.
