Jennifer Garner talks about the “sadness” of teenage daughter Violet Affleck, 15, who grows up … while admitting that children call her a “funny killer”









Golden Globe winner Jennifer Garner revealed that the most personal parallel to her new film Yes Day was her relationship with her 15-year-old daughter Violet Affleck.

“I’ve never made a film in which I drew more from personal experience,” the 48-year-old mother admitted at Monday’s episode of SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show.

The first draft [of the script] he really had the teenager [played by Jenna Ortega] being clever and really nasty and causing trouble.

The 48-year-old mother admitted to Monday's episode of The Jess Cagle Show on SiriusXM:

The 48-year-old mother, 48, admitted to Monday’s episode of SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show: “I’ve never made a movie where I never drew more from personal experience.”

“So there was that kind of external pressure and he kept saying,‘ No! The lack of love is that it is growing. This is what tears! “

Jennifer continued, “It’s heartbreaking for mom and teen, and you just need to have that kind of break from those babymama ties. That’s what’s so hard. You don’t have to be an idiot. It’s still harder to be charming.

Violet was only 6 years old when Garner began turning the philosophy of Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s book into a real-life family tradition.

“My kids call me‘ the funny killer, ’that’s in the movie,” the West Virginia-born Texas star noted.
