Lady Gaga will sing the national anthem and Jennifer Lopez will have a musical number in front of the US Capitol on Wednesday, during the swearing-in of Joe Biden as the nation’s 46th president.
On the eve it was reported that Tom Hanks will present a 90-minute television special to celebrate the investiture of Biden featuring Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato and Ant Clemons.
During the swearing-in ceremony, the Rev. Leo O’Donovan, former rector of Georgetown University, will recite the invocation, while the oath of allegiance to the flag will be led by Andrea Hall, a Georgia firefighter.
There will also be a poetry reading by Amanda Gorman, the first young national laureate poet, and the Rev. Silvester Beaman, of the African Methodist Episcopal Church at Bethel in Wilmington, Delaware, will give the blessing.
