Joan Laporta he won, in a convincing way, the elections for the presidency of Barcelona. In the absence of official data, the former president of the club between 2003 and 2010 came close to 60 percent of the more than 57 thousand votes cast (in person and by mail) that became the election with more participation in club history.
According to an initial poll of TV3, Laporta would have surpassed 58 percent of the vote, followed by 31 percent Victor Font and 9.3 percent per Toni Freixa. The poll, however, only took into account voters at the Camp Nou, not entering the 20,662 votes by mail or those cast in the remaining six polling stations divided in Catalonia.
Laporta was already known to be a favorite from the early hours of the morning, which was indicated in his joy throughout the day, which contrasted with the seriousness of a source who as the weeks went by, understood that his project could not cope with the charisma of the victor.
Barça, socially sunk, needed a change. And what the Barça member voted for was a real revolution. He did it in 2003, with a magnificent result, and so it is understood that he has done it again in 2021.
