For his part, the Guatemalan chancellor revealed that he met with Roberta Jacobson, special envoy for Mexico and the North Central American Triangle, and with Juan Gonzalez.
“We indicate the progress that has been made in Honduras in recent years in terms of security and economic development,” Rosales said.

The president denied days after he had sought meetings with the Biden government; however, other sources close to the White House have confirmed to various media that the meetings were sought, but were not accepted.
Bukele even tried to disqualify newspaper reports that accounted for his visit to Washington and accused journalist Joshua Goodman of the international Associated Press (AP) of lying.
Also, the director of human Rights Watch, José Miguel Vivanco, said Bukele lied when he said he did not seek meetings with Biden’s team.
“Here in Washington it is widely known that Bukele was in town for two days and requested meetings with Biden administration officials. And he returned empty-handed,” Vivanco said on his Twitter.
