Joe Biden will focus on economic recovery after Covid with 17.5 million vaccines administered in the US – live | US News

A key group of conservative doctors pushing misinformation about Covid-19 vaccines faces increasing medical experts on its unfortunate scientific basis, while its leader, Dr. Simone Gold, was accused in early ‘this week for taking part in the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

Gold, who founded America’s Frontline Doctors last spring with the help of the Tea Party Patriots organization, was arrested Monday in Beverly Hills, where she lives, and faces charges of entering a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct.

Prior to his arrest, a photo of Gold with a megaphone appearing in an FBI pamphlet featuring a talk inside the Capitol, entitled “Looking for Information” about the suspects in the Capitol attack, appeared in an FBI pamphlet. Gold first acknowledged his presence at the Capitol and expressed “regret” at the Washington Post, after a video appeared about his walk to the Capitol.

Last May, the Gold group gained quick attention as several right-wing organizations, including the Tea Party Patriots and the FreedomWorks Foundation, launched a well-funded advertising campaign to attack state blockades and minimize the risks of the pandemic.

Gold and his fledgling group attacked policies advocated by prominent scientists such as Dr. Anthony Fauci and other national pandemic experts, and promoted misinformation at rallies in Los Angeles and Washington and the right-wing media in Salem Radio and Pat Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network.

The Golden Mission has included promoting the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine, a fake Covid-19 cure that Donald Trump approved that carries serious health risks, and suggesting that the mental health effects of the blockade were more harmful than the Covid-19 virus.

Last July, Gold delivered his message at a widespread rally his group organized in front of the Supreme Court, which drew nearly ten doctors, including two ophthalmologists. Gold, who had been working at two hospitals before the rally, was later fired and quickly tapped Conservative lawyer and Trump ally Lin Wood to represent her.
