John Mulaney sat down Tuesday night with his close friend Seth Meyers to talk about his recent struggles with substance abuse, his new triumphs and to announce that he is expecting his first child with actress Olivia Munn.
“I got into this relationship that has been really nice with someone amazing who has dealt with my version of Bambi that doesn’t coo and that has been very amazing,” Mulaney said. “She’s holding my hand for this hell and we’re having a baby together.”
The 39-year-old recovered from his chaotic last year for Meyers, explaining how he had previously gone to rehab for alcohol and cocaine abuse in September and, when he was released in October, left home. which he shared with his ex-wife. “I fell into drugs after the program, not directly afterwards. “I go into the intervention and I’m so crazy,” Mulaney said, adding that he arrived two hours late because it had passed Saturday night livein the hair department to get a free haircut while he was tall.
“I didn’t want an intervention, I wanted to continue,” he said. “At that time, I wanted to continue using drugs. Sitting here tonight, I am so grateful to you and everyone who saved my life. Mulaney was in rehab for two months until February, and then completed a stay in sober outpatients. In the spring, she had started dating Munn, whom she first met at Meyers ’wedding to Alexi Ashe in 2013.
