Jennifer Wayne announced her engagement to Austin Moody last month after six months out.

And John Wayne’s granddaughter has already arrived at the altar, after a whirlwind romance.

He tied the knot with Moody on Saturday at an intimate Western-themed beach wedding in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, less than two weeks after announcing his engagement.

The 38-year-old chose the place because they loved the area and “wanted to get married on the water.”

Moody, 29, told People: ‘Jennifer grew up on the beach and there is something so calm and healing in the ocean. After making the knot, we are having a “sailing” boat.

They added a “western” touch to the beach wedding, adding, “It’s a cowboy / cowgirl-themed wedding. Everyone will be wearing boots and hats.”

Wayne surprised with a custom dress by Nashville-based designer Tyler Minor: “The dress is made of crepe chiffon. It is a very classic style with a bohemian and western touch.

Moody was wearing a custom Minor animal skin jacket, with jeans and a black stetson.

The bride wore her grandmother Pilar Pallete’s engagement ring from grandfather John Wayne for “something blue.”

She said: “On her tenth birthday, she matched the diamond and restored it to a floral setting. Austin used her grandmother’s diamonds to create an engagement ring for me. [made with help from my best friend’s mom, Dobrila Pintar,] also in the floral setting. So I bought all the ladies of the wedding month flower earrings at Local Eclectic to keep the theme going. “

The ceremony was followed by a casual reception with food served by Cowgirl Kitchen, as well as Duke Bourbon wine and Caymus.

Wayne and her boyfriend opted for a “very small” wedding, with less than 20 guests, made up of close family and close friends.

It comes after the bride and Runaway member Jane overcame their own battle with COVID-19 in early 2020.

They said, “We take COVID very seriously and have asked all guests to receive a recent COVID test before attending. We have the outdoor ceremony with plenty of room for social distance.”

Newlyweds plan to celebrate it with all their loved ones when it’s safest, with “a big party in Nashville,” where they live.

They announced their engagement on December 30 on Instagram, while showing off their rock, writing, “Happy birthday to the man with whom I can spend the rest of my life !!!” I love you @theaustinmoody. I can’t wait to celebrate the day with you …

Wayne and Moody “couldn’t wait another second” to get married, just six months after they started dating.

They reconnected five years after they first met, when his bandmate Natalie Stovall texted her: “Austin found a dog that had been left on the highway. He knew Natalie and knew that she loved dogs. So she sent the dog the photo to Natalie, and Natalie said, “Oh, Jen saves dogs … we have to send Jen. The rest is history! ‘
