Jon Stewart admits why he was wrong about Donald Trump

At the time, the host of “The Daily Show” thought that the reality of television was a “gift from heaven” comic.

But in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter published Wednesday, Stewart said he misjudged, not considering that “certainty, his ridicule, his shamelessness of Trump is what made him dangerous.”

“I thought it would make him a jester and I thought that would be what would disqualify him,” Stewart said, Apple TV + ’s new show“ The Problem with Jon Stewart ”will premiere on September 30th.

“What he did was the perfect boat,” Stewart continued. “You have to be cheeky to do embarrassing things.”

“I’m not saying it’s the same as these figures, but the most dangerous figures are the ones that look funny and absurd,” Stewart added. “Saddam Hussein seems absurd. Muammar Gaddafi would put on a caftan and wake up like a madman.
