Justin Bieber heads to LA studio amid bid for UK number one Christmas with NHS choir collaboration

He recently partnered with the NHS choir of Lewisham and Greenwich to launch a charity performance of his mega hit Holy and Chance the Rapper.

And Justin Bieber was back in creative fashion on Friday, while heading to a recording studio in Burbank, California.

The 26-year-old Canadian pop superstar came out in a casual, fun style, wearing a smiling black T-shirt from her Drew line of clothing with a logo tracksuit bottom.

Wearing a white knit cap from the brand that rested on her long, wavy hair, the Sorry hit completed her relaxed ensemble with white Nike basketball shoes.

The star’s departure comes as she launches a bid for the UK’s coveted number one Christmas spot after partnering with NHS singers for a reworking of her Holy theme.

In 2015, the star was hit by the heart when her solidarity single, A Bridge Over You, became the UK’s number one Christmas hit for the hit Love Yourself.

At the time, the singer had encouraged her millions of Twitter followers to buy the NHS song to help her reach the top of the list.

Justin and the choir recently came together to record the new version of Holy, with all proceeds going to NHS Charities Together and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Charity, to support the front-line medical workers of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The choir recorded the new song at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios, and Justin said: “It’s great to be back with the NHS choir of Lewisham and Greenwich as we share a bit of fun from the history of UK graphics .

“Especially in these difficult times, I am humbled to form a team with them to get a solidarity single that will benefit NHS workers at the forefront of this pandemic and pay tribute to their incredible dedication.”

Caroline Smith, a child community physiotherapist and NHS choir leader in Lewisham and Greenwich, added: “Justin Bieber helped make our dreams come true in 2015 and does the same this year.”

“We really can’t thank him enough for the opportunity to work with him on this wonderful and uplifting song. We are very proud to represent Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and all the NHS heroes.

In 2015, Justin was highly praised for his selfless gesture after tweeting, “So for 1 week it’s okay not to be number 1.” We do the right thing and help them win. It’s Christmas. @Choir_NHS good luck. (sic) “

Subsequently, the ‘Yummy’ singer met with members of the choir to congratulate them.

The contenders had been neck and neck for a week in 2015, with only 622 sales between them on Christmas night, but the heart enjoyed a late boost, taking them to the top of the julet list for 31,000 singles .

They ended up with a combined total sales of over 127,000 copies. Instead, Bieber sold about 97,000 copies of his single, according to a press release sent to MailOnline.

The Battle for Christmas No. 1 was the closest to the one seen since Rage Against The Machine’s brilliant victory over Joe McElderry of The X Factor in 2009 with his song, Killing In The Name.

The NHS choir of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, midwives and administration staff was formed by television chorister Gareth Malone in 2012 during her show “The Choir: Sing while you work”.

In May, Justin donated benefits from Stuck With U, his single in solidarity with Ariana Grande to the American charity First Responders Children’s Foundation, which supports first aid and their families.

While Justin is clearly excited for Christmas, the singer-songwriter also has the same publicity for his upcoming New Year’s Eve performance.

“Prepping for New Year see you there,” headlined Bieber, who shared a rehearsal photo with his fans on Tuesday.

Earlier this year, Bieber released his fifth studio album Changes, which featured his hit single Yummy.

It is unclear whether the star will perform or debut new tracks during his New Year’s Eve post or whether he will give fans a taste of what he had planned for his change tour.

Prior to the blockade of the coronavirus pandemic in March, Justin had planned to tour his latest album, with the first tour date set for June 2nd.

But, unfortunately, the tour was postponed by force due to safety and health issues of COVID-19.
