After 15 months without launching anything new on the market, Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Kany García finally releases a new promotional single today, entitled “DPM (De Pxta Mare)”. The theme, which invites you to get out of toxic relationships and enjoy life, provides a message of empowerment, of leaving all the bad behind, and having a good time.
The song, by Kany, in collaboration with Venezuelan musicians Servando Primera and Yasmil Marrufo, and Colombian engineer and producer Richi López, moves away from the nostalgic wave and enters a more festive, where the singer-songwriter invites you to get out of the bad vibes and “opt for yourself.”
“I feel super happy to come back and start releasing music that puts me in a good mood,” the vocalist said Tuesday in a video call interview from her residence in Miami.
“Living these last few times without having contact with people, makes my mood somehow sad and I refused to release music that would lead me to that. On the contrary, I have a great need to do it. songs that put me in a good mood. nostalgic, quite the opposite “, he added about this new single that opens accompanied by a music video which he filmed in the Virginia Key Beach park in Miami under the direction of Andrés Ibáñez for Rockanfella, Inc.
The visual states that it is possible to leave behind a bad relationship (whether love or friendship) at any age, and we can help other people do the same. Preparing delicious food and drinks, and enchanting us with his personality, the artist invites you to a meeting for all the people who want to resume their life and happiness.
“How good when one cleans the house and one starts to change the resemblance, the mood. Super toxic relationships that when you get out of them you say, ‘why did I take so long to get out of here.’ you say, ‘this guy was subtracting me every time I was with him, it was an energy or a vibe that didn’t bring out the best in me and since that person isn’t in my life I’ve decided to share with people who join me.’ hence the acronym DMP, which is pxta mother, how one goes about it when one is on the way to oneself. When one opts for one, when the leader of the life project is you and they are not the others. It’s a song that makes you very good and it’s what I needed at the moment, “he said about this new single that will be part of a new record production in which he works and will be released soon of the summer of the year 2022.
Kany García pointed out that, like many people, she also had to make the decision to say goodbye to friendships that did not suit her, or that the path simply separated them. He recounted that the first time he made this decision was at the age of 18, when he realized that there was a friend who did not join him. He remembered that at first he did not know how to cut and his father advised him to leave slowly. As the years have passed, the artist is much more selective with his friendships and especially now, in the midst of a pandemic, when he can only be with people of the most intimate trust.
“This was an exercise for my whole life, to look at who is around me and who are people who are committed to a better Kany Garcia. Obviously the pandemic has made us close this circle much more … Today in day we have to opt for a circle of extreme trust knowing that we expose our relatives, all over the world, every time we shared with someone and today more than ever this song goes like a ring on my finger to always go spectacularly well because I am sharing with people who contribute towards this, ”he added.
Receive hate messages
Speaking precisely about the pandemic, Kany García has been very vocal in advising the population to be vaccinated against Covid-19. In fact, he recently participated in a version of the song “Color hope”, by Argentine Diego Torres, in favor of the Pan American Health Organization and its efforts against the pandemic.
But his request has not been well received by the general public. The singer-songwriter confessed that since the first post she made on her social media in favor of vaccination there have been many hate messages. She, however, has continued “out of respect and love,” sharing the message.
“A lot of these people are hate activists who write things to me like I’m better at singing, I’m not dedicated to giving my opinions, but how nice it is for me to know that I have a platform that they follow me on Instagram more of a million people, and it’s good that through my platform I can help and make so many things visible … I’m going to take my water on top, but I think it’s worth it. We’re talking about life, “he said. expressed. “I continue and will continue until I die being stubborn and using the microphone for social causes that are important,” he added.
New tour
Ensuring precisely all security protocols against the dreaded virus, Kany Garcia begins this Wednesday his musical tour of 11 cities in the United States, being the first stop in Atlanta. Although he admitted that he was a little scared by the whole health situation, he said that the desire to go on stage is greater and that the whole team has taken strict measures, among them, that the audience be vaccinated.
After this tour ends, the singer-songwriter will prepare for what will be her big concert in Puerto Rico, to be held on January 28 and 29 at the Coliseum in Puerto Rico. In this celebration, in which he will perform live his past album “Table for two” (2020), will feature several guest artists, among other surprises. This concert would open what is the artist’s tour of Latin America. It will also serve as a preamble for the release of his new album which he hopes to release before the summer of 2022, where it will have a more modern sound, but without abandoning that stamp and essence that distinguishes it.
