Kawhi Leonard (leg contusion) will be out Sunday for the LA Clippers

LOS ANGELES – LA Clippers striker Kawhi Leonard was ruled out of a lower left leg contusion for Sunday night’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Clippers started a man’s first game in a row without his two stars. Leonard joined Paul George (swollen right finger) on the sideline. George missed the fifth straight game due to injury.

Coach Ty Lue said Leonard suffered an injury at some point during the Clippers’ two-game trip to Minnesota and Chicago. Leonard scored 36 points in a win against the Wolves and 33 points in a win against the Bulls.

“I’m not entirely sure when it happened,” Lue said before facing Cleveland. “Or when he will return.”

Leonard had missed four previous games this season due to a laceration in his mouth and when he had to introduce safety and health protocols due to contact tracking.
