From designer dresses to dancing grandmothers and everything in between, the 2021 WNBA draft was full of memorable moments. The long-awaited WNBA orange carpet was virtual this year, but the main prospects were still dressed to impress. Charli Collier’s day dress was designed by Sergio Hudson, the stylist of former First Lady Michelle Obama.
The Dallas Wings began the draft by selecting Collier No. 1 overall. Although Collier did not remain on the board for long, he received the support of Texas Longhorn teammate Kevin Durant, even before the draft began.
Shortly after his selection, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic welcomed the city’s Texas.
I have the shirt ready too, brother, whatever the team is 😌 https://t.co/MkctmmlvTH

McDonald also received a shout out from Chris Paul and new teammate Renee Montgomery.

The New York Liberty selected Michaela Onyen with the No. 6 pick, but it was her grandmother who stole the show with these dance moves and impressed Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal.
