Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets remains captain of the NBA All-Star Game despite not playing

NEW YORK – Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets will continue to play as captain of the NBA All-Star Game despite a hamstring injury that will prevent him from playing.

Durant and his captain, All-Star Game, LeBron James, of the Los Angeles Lakers, will each write a list of the selected All-Stars selection. The draft All-Star will air on TNT on March 4th.

It was unclear whether Durant will travel to Atlanta to play the game on March 7.

Durant has missed the Nets ’last seven games with a hamstring strain and has been ruled out during the All-Star break. NBA commissioner Adam Silver named Domantas Sabonis as Durant’s replacement in the game, and Jayson Tatum was elevated to be All-Star starter in Durant’s absence.

On 11 occasions, Durant, for one season, has averaged 29 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists for Brooklyn this season.
