Kevin Love has no interest in negotiating the purchase with Cleveland Cavaliers, according to the agent

Five-star striker Kevin Love has no interest in negotiating a purchase in the two years and $ 60 million he has left of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, his agent, Jeff Sports of Excel Sports, told ESPN on Saturday.

“There have been no talks with Cleveland about a purchase, nor is there any interest on Kevin’s part in making a purchase,” Schwartz told ESPN.

The Cavaliers have regularly explored the Love trade, a scenario it supports, but have been unable to find an agreement they are willing to execute, sources said.

The arrivals of three younger front-runners last year – center Jarrett Allen, No. 3 Evan Mobley and Bulls lead Lauri Markkanen – could affect Love minutes with the Cavaliers.

Injuries have continued to affect Love’s productivity in recent seasons. Struggling with a calf injury a year ago, Love, 32, averaged 12.2 points and 7.4 rebounds in a career low of 24.9 minutes.

A contract purchase would allow the Cavaliers to save money on Love’s contract balance and allow him the freedom to sign elsewhere as a free agent.
