THQ Nordic has announced that Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, a 2012 remaster Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, will be released on Nintendo Switch on March 16.
The launch will be the first time Kingdoms of Amalur launches on a handheld console, and it seems that Switch owners are very happy. A total of three DLCs will be included: The Teeth of Naros, Legend of Dead Kel, and Weapons and Armor bundles, which, along with the base game, are said to offer “hundreds of hours of exploration, dynamic combat, and adventure.” Oh, and the music is by former staff member Grant Kirkhope, who is nice.
Here is an official description:
Role play success returns. From the minds of best-selling author RA Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, lead designer Ken Rolston, comes out Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. Remastered with stunning images and refined gameplay, Re-Reckoning offers intense, customizable role-playing combat within an extensive game world. Discover the secrets of Amalur, from the vibrant city of Rathir in the vast region of Dalentarth to the painful dungeons of the Brigand Hall caves. Rescue a world broken by a cruel war and control the keys to immortality as the first warrior to be resurrected from the hands of death.
Players have the task of building their own character from “countless” combinations before evolving their class and facing enemies at a good pace. There’s a lot of global content and knowledge to explore, as well as several side missions to keep you up and running for hours and hours.
There are also more things on the way, as THQ Nordic has confirmed plans for a new Kingdoms of Amalur expansion called “Fatesworn”. For now, the details are still pretty thin, but they tell us we expect it to arrive later this year.
Have you played Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning on other systems? Will you check it out on Switch? Let us know in the usual place.
