KJ Hamler: I kind of hurt Jerry Jeudy because of the fall of TD

Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy will miss several games with an ankle injury he suffered during the third quarter of the team’s season loss to the Giants, meaning KJ Hamler will likely play a more great in the coming weeks come.

The injury came five plays after Hamler dropped what would have been a 50-yard touchdown pass from Teddy Bridgewater and Hamler has had to overcome the feeling that Jeudy’s injury would not have happened if he had rolled on that ball.

“It’s messy that Jerry has to go through that right now, and at the time, I was at a point of putting the injury on me,” Hamler said, via Kyle Newman of the Denver Post. “Because if I had gotten that touchdown, it probably would never have happened.”

Hamler said he “told one of the attendees to throw me 100 deep balls over my shoulder” after returning to Denver to make sure the falls weren’t a problem in the future. This will not change what happened to Jeudy, but it would be a more effective offense during his absence and after his return.
