The Mets weren’t the only local team to deal with rain issues Sunday.
The Knicks ’game against the Raptors was delayed for a few minutes, staying 3:58 in the third quarter after water came out of the roof at Madison Square Garden.
A spokesman for the team said there was a “small trickle of rain” coming out of the roof, but that it was “fixed”.
Players from both teams were shown staring at the ceiling during the 14-minute delay while a court member rubbed the water with a towel.
After resuming play, the staff cleared the area inside the key in front of the Knicks ’defensive basket after each Toronto possession.
A few hours earlier, the Mets suspended their game against the Marlins after a 2-hour, 10-minute rain delay.
The teams, to the displeasure of the Mets starting pitcher Marcus Stroman, tried to play during the rain for seven minutes before it was finally canceled.
