Kris Bryant could leave the Cubs ‘this week’

A couple of months ago it was announced that Chicago Cubs would be looking to change Kris Bryant ahead of the 2021 MLB Season. This news was having several ‘dyes’, as while some claimed that the decision was imminent, others reported that it had already been left behind. However, the latest reports say that Kris Bryant could leave the Cubs ‘this week’.

Andy Martino, SNY reporter reported this Saturday 9th January that Chicago Cubs will switch to Kris Bryant ‘as soon as possible this week’. It was speculated that the fate of the third base would be Mets, but it seems that everything has changed.

Multiple sources reported this week that Cubs and Mets had had recent conversations related to Bryant’s change. However, Martino adds that the two sides have not spoken in ‘several weeks’ and that these talks took place before Mets acquired Francisco Lindor.

Despite his quality and being considered a top player, Kris Bryant has not been tied to any specific team lately. Still Martino stated that there are other organizations extremely interested in him, inclusive, more than the Metropolitans.

Kris Bryant made his MLB debut with the Chicago Cubs in 2015. During his time with the team he averaged .280 on batting, scoring 142 home runs and producing 414 runs. The forward was an important part of the 2016 World Series of Cubs Championship.
