Krispy Kreme doubles its free incentive for vaccines

So what’s better than a free donut? Two free donuts.

With cases of Covid-19 on the rise, Krispy Kreme increases the advantage for vaccination. From August 30 to September 5, the company offers anyone who has a vaccine two free donuts instead of one.

In March, Krispy Kreme was one of the first businesses to launch an incentive against the Covid vaccine nationwide, offering a free glass donut to any adult with a vaccination card.

Since then, the company said it has donated more than 2.5 million donuts. (Supply is maintained for the rest of the year.)

“We all hoped we would already be nearing the end of this pandemic,” Dave Skena, commercial director of Krispy Kreme, said in a statement. “They were not.

“So consider getting vaccinated if you haven’t already,” he added. “And then enjoy and share two amazing donuts with our senses thank you.”

From free food to cash prizes, incentives have become increasingly important to encourage more people to get vaccinated.

Last month, President Joe Biden asked state and local officials to offer residents payments of $ 100 to receive a Covid vaccine. New York City has already announced that it will pay $ 100 to anyone who goes to a city vaccination site to get their first dose.

The latest impetus comes when coronavirus cases in the United States rise again, with the highly contagious delta variant fueling infection rates.

A recent UCLA survey showed that approximately 33% of unvaccinated people said a $ 100 cash payment would make them more likely to receive a vaccine.
