Woof.
Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler, who separated in April 2020 after 10 years of marriage, could meet for a lawsuit alleging that one of their dogs bit a cable man.
Cable and satellite technician Nathan Beam has filed a lawsuit against Cavallari, 34, and Cutler, 37, for two allegedly free German shepherds at his home in Tennessee. Nashville NBC affiliate WSMV-4 reports that Beam is suing the couple for $ 500,000.
Beam claims he completed an installation on the property in June 2020 and was preparing to leave when a German shepherd (believed to be called Kona) stood in front of the side door of his truck driver. He says he went to pick up something from the ground to distract the animal and alleges that he then bit his left thumb and fingernail.
The lawsuit says Cavallari’s assistant then came out, handed him a paper towel, and allegedly told him to leave the property. He insists he did nothing to provoke the canine. (Neither Cavallari nor Cutler were home at the time.)
Beam believes former celebrities should be responsible for not keeping their dogs restricted during their visit. He also believes Cavallari is aware that his dogs can be aggressive, as he had previously referred to a “trained killer” on Instagram.
He is seeking damages, alleging that he suffered physical injuries and disfigurements, as well as mental distress and loss of wages.
The star of “Very Cavallari” (also famous for his time on MTV’s “The Hills” and “Laguna Beach”) married former NFL quarterback Cutler in 2013. They share three children: the Camden children, of 7 years; and Jaxon, 5; and 4-year-old daughter Saylor.
Cavallari is currently dating comedian Jeff Dye. The couple first bonded in October when they met in Chicago. A month later, the duo were seen having an “intimate” date in Nashville.
