Kyrie Irving saw Tanahie Aboushie’s call before Nets left

Instead of playing for the Nets Tuesday night, Brooklyn star Kyrie Irving took part in a video call launch party for Democratic candidate for Manhattan District Attorney Tahanie Aboushi.

Aboushi tweeted about the image of the Zoom meeting, and Irving, who has been out of the Nets since last week, was among the more than 200 volunteers and supporters who attended.

The reunion, co-hosted by actress Cynthia Nixon, began at 7 p.m., about 40 minutes before the Nets faced the Denver Nuggets at the Barclays Center.

Irving, 28, has lost four games in a row, including his team’s 122-116 victory on Tuesday.

The absence of the police is believed to be because he is upset by the revolt of the United States Capitol.

Irving has not spoken publicly since the insurgency, but on Monday night a video appeared about him apparently without a maskless party while celebrating his sister’s birthday.

The video had no date.

Nets CEO Sean Marks said in a statement that the organization knew about the video and that it was “reviewing circumstances with both Kyrie and the NBA to determine compliance with safety and health protocols.”

NBA COVID-19 protocols prohibit players from going to bars, lounges or clubs or social gatherings with more than 15 people.

Irving is in the second season of a four-year, $ 136 million contract.
