Lamar Jackson is 0-3 against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in his career. He has a 30-5 against everyone else.
Jackson has become the fifth quarterback MVP in NFL history to go 0-3 against another quarterback MVP, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Peyton Manning and Matt Ryan were the only MVP quarterbacks to lose their first four starts against another MVP quarterback. They both did this against Tom Brady.
“It’s not about me and Muhammad,” Jackson said Wednesday, via ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. “It simply came to our notice then. Probably everyone. But it’s the Ravens against the Kansas City bosses. “
Jackson called the Chiefs infamous “our kryptonite” after pitching for the worst 97-yard run in a 34-20 loss to the Chiefs on Sept. 28 last season. (He was nine rushes for 83 yards).
More specifically, the bosses have been Jackson’s kryptonite. He completed 52.6 percent of his passes against Kansas City, averaging 170.3 yards per pass with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
“They beat us three times or whatever, but that already happened,” Jackson said. “I am not arrested for these losses. We come on Sunday night and we will play ”.
Muhammad won the MVP award in 2018 and Jackson followed him in 2019. Muhammad has a Super Bowl ring and reclaimed the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in 2020; Jackson is 1-3 in the postseason and has not reached the divisional round.
