Henrico County, Wah. – Police are searching for the suspect after two people were injured in a shooting that sparked a major police presence Friday afternoon in the West End of Henrigo County. At 1:25 p.m., officers say “there are several units at the scene. Police are telling community members to stay inside while guarding the area.” An area is taken to the hospital. There was no word on their status on the last check. Photos: “The scene is very lively,” Lt. Matt Becca told Henrico police. “We have forensic members and command staff … we work together to protect the scene and ensure the safety of the residents of Burham Road.” Becca asked the neighbor to lock their doors, “to be clear from this area as the police continue to work.” He said everyone can see the extra police action as officers work additional shots nearby. “This scene seemed to expand, so we’re really working on determining what happened,” Becca said. However, police said the shooting scene was isolated near the intersection of Burham and Three Saab. Police said they were still at an “early stage” of the investigation and would release additional information when it became available. As a result of the shooting, police said North Barham will be closed within an emergency between three Saab and Lansdowne roads. Details of the circumstances surrounding the shooting were not available on the last check. The shooting scene is not far from the Aldi grocery store and Walgreens pharmacy. The busy area asked police to contact anyone who heard or saw anything or to submit a tip online. “We’d love to hear from you,” Becka said.
