Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs arrested for DUI hours after winning

LAS VEGAS: Josh Jacobs, the Pro Bowl of the Las Vegas Raiders, was arrested on a DUI charge Monday morning, hours after the team returned from winning the final season at the Denver Broncos.

Jacobs, 22, was arrested after Las Vegas metropolitan police responded to a vehicle accident near McCarran Airport Connector and East Sunset Road at approximately 4:42 p.m. the shock. After treatment, he was taken to the Clark County Detention Center, where he was assigned to DUI, according to the LVMP’s head of public information.

Jacobs’ lawyers said they would plead not guilty if the case goes that far.

“No complaint has been filed against our client and there are no blood test results to support a suggestion of impairment,” Jacobs attorneys David Z. Chesnoff and Richard A. Schonfeld said in a statement. . “We intend to file a guilty plea on behalf of Mr. Jacobs if he is ever charged.”

The Raiders acknowledged the incident in a statement.

“The Raiders are aware of the situation affecting Josh Jacobs,” the team said. “The organization takes these issues seriously and we have no further comment at this time.”

Las Vegas coach Jon Gruden said he was limited in what he could say about the incident.

“We’re just aware of it. I’ll say Josh is fine and I’m not free to comment until I get more facts,” Gruden said. “But we have the news that Josh is fine and we are studying the matter.”

According to Fox 5 Vegas, Jacobs was released and has a court appearance scheduled for March 8.
