Last stage of work of the Nuclear Medicine Center

The Ministry of Public Works and Services, through the Directorate of Architecture, continues to move forward with infrastructure works for health. In this sense, the new Nuclear Medicine Center is almost at the culmination to be delivered to the Ministry of Health and put into operation soon.

The work, located in the available land of the former Spanish Hospital, in Capital, has an execution advance of 98%. The building project aimed to build a surface area of ​​868.80m2, responding to the needs raised by the Ministry of Public Health of the province.

The new building will have a waiting room and reception of comfortable dimensions and double height. A dry square next to a recove that will serve as an expansion. It also includes the spaces of offices, support and room for physicists and doctors. Upstairs, there will be the administrative area.

In the most complex and specific sector of the infrastructure, the area of ​​injection, hot room, console, equipment, spaces were planned that require a special preparation from the point of view of radioprotection, since there radioactive material will be manipulated. In this case, the constructive features were specific for this purpose.

The PET / CT Nuclear Medicine Center will have a room where the specific equipment with its respective console will be installed. The hot room will have table, cladding and furniture under table of non-absorbent material and continuous surface (stainless steel).

It should be noted that for this work, modeling with BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology was used by the company Bilbao Construcciones. This is an innovative methodology of work in the construction industry, which allows through virtual models and in a collaborative way, to manage construction projects in an integral way in all its stages.

With this work completed and underway, San Juan will become a nuclear hub for all of it.
