Latest news about the vaccine and the world

Belgium, a country of about 11.5 million people, has reported 184,565 alleged violations of coronavirus rules since the restrictions went into effect, according to official data.

Between March 2020 and February 14, 2021, nearly 97,000 people were fined on the spot and more than half actually paid, according to data released by the College of Attorneys General.

Covid-related fines in Belgium range from $ 300 to $ 5,000:

  • Residents who break quarantine or violate the ban on small meetings: $ 300
  • Returned travelers who do not receive a $ 19,300 Covid test
  • The companies were found to be breaking Covid-$ 19: $ 900 restrictions
  • People attending a big meeting or party: $ 900 (organizers pay about $ 5,000)

In early February, police in neighboring Netherlands said they had been issuing between 7,000 and 12,000 fines a week since a national curfew came into force from 9pm to 4.30am in late January.

Violating this curfew, which was designed to reduce social interaction and therefore the spread of coronavirus, has a cost of about $ 114.

On Tuesday, a Dutch court ruled that the government should “immediately lift” the curfew, confirming a claim by the viruswaarheid.nl foundation, which means “truth of the virus.”
