SAINT ANTHONY – San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff briefed the community on the local response to COVID-19 in its daily session Sunday night.
Nirenberg reported 160,026 COVID-19 cases in total and 1,967 deaths in total in Bexar County, an increase of 289 new cases as of Sunday. Sixteen new deaths have been reported today.
Today’s figures have been significantly lower than in recent weeks; however, Nirenberg said it is likely to be the result of a delay in receiving state test results.
City officials also reported that 1,381 patients are hospitalized, 407 in the intensive care unit and 251 in ventilators. 14% beds are available and 52% are fans.
There have been 138 hospital admissions in the last 24 hours, Nirenberg said.
