Leaders report 660 new cases of COVID-19, 3 new deaths

SAINT ANTHONY – San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff briefed the community on the local response to COVID-19 in its daily session Wednesday night.

Nirenberg reported 185,444 COVID-19 cases in total and 2,365 deaths in total in Bexar County, an increase of 660 new cases as of Wednesday. Three new deaths have been reported today.

The 7-day moving average is

City officials also reported that 855 patients are hospitalized, 342 in the intensive care unit and 198 with ventilators. There are 11% beds available and 55% fans.

There have been 113 hospital admissions in the last 24 hours, Nirenberg said.

Wolff said he expects the county to administer 24,600 COVID-19 vaccines by Friday.
